Re: Thoughts on snow tires
I bought a pair of Kelly Springfield Snowtrakker ST/2 snow tires that I put on the rear of my truck since I have a 4X2, and I just run my Bridgestone Dueler APT III's in the front. With the Snowtrakker ST/2's on the rear axle of my ranger and about 420lbs of sand in the back, I can make it up my 10% grade driveway in 4" of snow. The same day my buddy came over with his F-350 w/ the V-10 Trition in it, and he had to attempt getting up the driveway twice, and on the second time he decide that he had to use his 4X4 to get up the driveway. I would "HIGHLY" recommend a pair of snow tires at least for the rear axle if they have a 2WD Ranger, especially if they live in WI, like I do.
