Question 31x10.5 50R15 issues

I bought my first Ranger a few weeks ago, I have had to fix a few minor things, but it's getting there. The truck came with almost brand new American Prospector 31x10.5 50R15 tires on it, and while it looks really good, I have made a list if the negative aspects of these tires. A friend made the observation that it may be because American Prospector is a cheap brand. I am thinking about going to the stock tire, or maybe to something in between, like a P235 75R15, any thoughts?

1.) The ride seems more rough than it should be, or maybe would be with the stock tires ( P225 70R15 )

2.) The truck seems slow from a dead stop, not sure if stock tires would change this or not.

3.) The speedometer is off by alot, when it reads 65, you are going 73.

4.) The tires are noisy as heck, have to crank the radio to drown them out.

The actual tire will make more of a difference than its size.

Yes, a smaller tire size will help. You could also re gear.

My speedo didn't change that drastically when I went from stock to 31's. So you may have more than just tire size effecting that.

Again, its more about the actual tire (tread design) than it's size.

Actually, the speedometer change is about right. I went from 235/75/R15 to 31/10.50/R15 and it is about there. I have never gone 65 in the truck. Speed limit is 55 here, no freeways either. But at 60 on my speedometer, the truck would be going about 65.

You rough ride is probably the tires. But it is a truck, they are not supposed to ride like cars.
