Re: Thoughts On Yokohama Geolander A/T-S
they are ok, they do better on trucks with more power tho, cause to clear em you need lots of balls in thick mud, i have a few friends that have them on tacomas and cant stand them, but the guys i know with them on full size trucks like em. i dont think they are anything really special for how much they cost tho.

Re: Thoughts On Yokohama Geolander A/T-S
I haven't run them personally but the rating on Tire Rack aren't bad. The General Grabber AT 2 and Firestone A/T have better ratings and a better price.
Do not get Cooper Discoverer ATRs. Near the end of their tread life, wet road traction sucks. They were great the first couple of years but took a dump the last couple.

I am looking at the general grabbers also. They look nice. I just cant make up my mind. I am looking for a mild all terrain tire but with good on road capability to.

my mom had them on her Rodeo, whenever I drove it in the snow I loved them, but the did produce some road noise.

Re: Thoughts On Yokohama Geolander A/T-S
for the price, the yokahama geolandar is a great tire. it doesn't get the respect it deserves, because a lot of people think it doesn't look aggressive enough.
if you buy a tire because it "looks" aggressive, over actual performance, your just being stupid.

Re: Thoughts On Yokohama Geolander A/T-S
On my '01, 've got em in a 265/75x16 size...
... Much better snow and rock traction than some of the BFG line (long trail and A/T) that we've had on this thing... but to be fair, those were in a 255/70 kinda sizing so the costruction was a bit different (the BFGs were less of a "LT" tire; more of a lighter sidewall tire).
They do offer some road noise, and I can't speak about tread life yet (less than 6Kmiles on em) -- I DO gotta give mad props for the BFG Long Trail for tread life - even with some alignment issues in their lifetime, I changed em out before they were fully dead at over 47K miles. We use the Long Trails as the standard on the fleet Rangers, but I'm not a fan of their ice& snow performance (why I changed to the Geolanders...)

Re: Thoughts On Yokohama Geolander A/T-S
i ran a set of geolandar a/t's on my jeep when i had it and they were bar none one of the best tires i've ever run. they weren't the a/ts like what you're talking about, but same name and same tread style only a bit more aggressive. they're amazing.

Re: Thoughts On Yokohama Geolander A/T-S
Well just got back from the tire shop. Left with some BFG Long Trail. So far so good. 4 new tires will make a truck feel like new again.
