rangers on 235/85R16s, 255/85R16, or 33/10.5R15s
So still havent bought my new tires, I have stock 16inch wheels. I've kind of been goin back and forth with a couple ideas for a new tire/wheel set up. My original plan was gettin some nice 285s and doin a hella T crank and 6400s out back and rollin my fenders but i know I'll prolly still end up rubbing when flexed out and dont feel like crunchin a fender or cuttin sidewalls. So i still want tallest tire i can get on there with being able to flex out with out rubbing so I starting looking into 235/85R16s and 255/85/R16s, i know there roughly 32inch tall(235s) and 33inch(255s) so i thought i might get away without rubbing runnin a tall tire if there a lil narrower wat do u guys think? also i have a buddy that would sell me a set of 15inch rock crawler rims that fit my ranger for dirt cheap and was thinkin bout runnin those with some 33/10.5 rubber. so i guess im lookin for people to give me some info on these sizes and if they rub or not while flexing or turning at full lock, looking forward to some feed back it would be much appreicated thanks. P.S. would also like to see some pics of rangers with these tires sizes just to see how goofy they look if at all with having pizza cutters for tires lol
Oh one more thing I've cranked T bars to level my truck out and would still throw on some 6400s on the rear and possibly rolling my fenders if that would even make much difference to help give myself a smidge of clearence. Thanks fellow FRF members!
----------
Oh one more thing it might help if I told you guys the specs on those 15inch rims i might get lol they are pro comp rock crawler series 152 they measure 15x8 with a back spacing of 3.75. So guys lemme kno what you think would work best.

i say get the pro comp rims with the 33s would be good. hard to get the bigger tire that wont flex, jtus depends on how much flex you get
with those shackles you should be fine in the rear, the front doesnt flex much and quiet a bit a tbar crankin should be good for you

My 285s fit great I get minimal rub, only happens at full lock on the sway bar, and if I stuff the tires all the way into the rear fenders, even that is minimal.

get a color match and paint your bead locks, that would look sick. i have no talent in PSing so i cant do it but i think it would be 10x better

I actually almost did when I was painting them I was going to do the bed locks black and the holes in the bead lock red, but I like the simple clean look.

i'll agree on the wheels love the clean simple look, i think possible a dark gray ford emblem in the grill instead of the blue would look good, something small and easy to do. only other thing ive wondered about VHT of that Duplicolor Shadow on the chrome bumpers, think it would look sharp havent really seen it done tho, anybody kno?

oh yah thanks for the visual aid MikeRider, looks like u can get a decent flex goin before it rubs, maybe 80- 90%? correct me if im wrong. one other question, whats parts of the fender does it rub on front, back, top, or all the way around, just wanted to kno fure the hell of it cuz my buddy has a nice tool that bolts up to the hub assembly and rolls the fender real nice and clean just got to heat the metal a lil with a heat gun not sure if it makes it easier to roll the metal but it elimantes cracking the paint around the edge of the fender, he used it on hes supra cuz of a fat set of drag radials he picked up, and he got the complete inside flap on the fender to fold up and even flared the fender out maybe 1/4 - 3/8 of an inch so i thought if i got lucky that might give me just enough to clear but wont kno till i try it thanks for the info goin back to the first plan of pickin up some 285s yes!
----------
oh btw are those toyos in that flexed pic?

Thanks man! I like the chrome and the emblem is one thing I am working on gona do chrome outside black inside with red lettering.
the part the tire hits is the front inside edge of the fender flare. it was enough to pop the flare out on the bottom but easy to fix. it is real easy to trim but I think I can adjust my traction bars and push the axle back a little more as it flexes up. defiantly no need to roll the fenders. if anything needed to be done you could pull them about .5-1in and that would solve the problem.
this is what the rub caused, nothing major
and ya those are Toyo M/Ts I got a set of 4 in a 285/75R16 with 40% tread for $150 to see how the size fit to make sure I was happy with them before I bought my BFGs
