Default Sugar Sand Riding

hey, quick question, most of you know i am a 2x4 guy and i am going out to this big place and going trail riding but its super sugar sandy. i heard lowering my tire pressure will help me out getting over it. would i just do the 2 rear tires cus im 2x4 or do i do all of the tires? what psi should i drop them to also? i will have a portable tank to fill them up and also a ciggarret lighter tire filler uper. so i can go pretty low and just fill them up for the ride home.

yeah sand is a fickle beast, pretty much you want a lot of surface contact hench lowering the pressure, the fronts i wouldnt lower as much, maybe bring em down to the low 20s, if you lowere your rears too much you could spin a rim or blow a bead. remember keep your momentum up in the sand, and i wouldnt put weight in the rear if you have good tires, it will only creat more resistance to movement in sand. plan ahead on where you park and stop, make sure its not on a hill or in the soft stuff.

Dont stop too fast (or really use breaks, sand will stop you) Also dont take off too fast. If you cut wheel too hard and try to go you will bog down.

i run 10-12 PSI in the front and 8-10 PSI in the rear, start off slow and easy and stop slow. in 2wd momentum is your friend!

Guys, your efforts are futile, Pat has never gone off-roading once without getting stuck.

lol, Is this place gonna be worse than what I have Pat? Do what everyone says. I had to put it all to use when Chris kept stopping in front of me to spin his tires.lol. If you do start spinning, don't throttle out, if ya can just feather it.

id say screw you man, but HE SPEAKS DA TRUTH! hahahaha
ya this place is worse than what it was out in ocala, its more fluffy. my dads 4x4 cherokee with all terrains gets threw it easily and his 4x4 is pretty much 1 fron 1 back haha. i get threw more stuff when we are both 2x4 so i might be able to. me and chris are goin out there trail ridding and shooting guns some time you know he will be able to get me out

Throw a shovel in the box. Just in case you get stuck too deep.

When I'm in the sand I run 5 in the back and 10 up front. Dont let someone tell you airing down the front on a 2wd is pointless... it helps your front end float over the sand instead of plowing.
