Hey y'all, finally I have my lil rig back on the road after replacing the head, and I really want to increase the tire size to something with a little more meat on them compared to the pathetic 225/75/15's on them right now. One of my concerns, especially with increasing fuel prices, i'd how much do y'all think goin to different tire size will be? I know there is a fantastic wheel and tire size chart, but I wanted your opinions on what is the best size to go with and sticking with 15x7 wheels? Pics would be great too.

my ol man just went from 205's to 235 BFG AT's. His Mileage has suffered. He has 3.73 gear ratio. Working on sticking some 4.10s in it tho. He is hard headed about figuring out were he is at with the mileage. He was getting just over 400 a tank with the 205's, now the odometer shows 330 something, but the odometer is off also cause of the tire change. The truck is lugging in 5th gear, so he has been running 4th to componsate until the 4.10s come.

If you go to a 235 prolly wont be that bad cause you already have a 225. you might notice a slight decrease.

It will depend on the tire too. Road tires tend to roll better than All Terrains do. So if you keep to a tire similar to what you have now, the mileage penalty might be all that noticable.

For my CR-V, going from 205/70R15 all seasons to 215/75R15 ATs cost me about 3 mpg (about 24 mpg now compared to about 27 on the highway).
