Default 2005 ranger needs new tires

hi, i got a 2005 4x4 ranger and am in need of new tires. Ive heard great things about the BFGoodrich all terrains and decided i wanted them for my truck (245 75 16). But i recently went to purchase these at a store and basically got laughed at by the salesmen for putting these AT tires on a smaller truck. Is it ok to do so and will they fit (without rubbing or lifting my truck)i really see no problem with them as long as they are the listed size.

i just want a good tire that looks like a truck tire and is more aggressive looking

They o BEST on a smaller truck. I have these on mine. Oh by the way, Ford DID put these out of the factory on the FX4 Level II Rangers from 02-09, so they gonna laugh at Ford too!? Tell them to fvck off and go somewhere else. Then pull up with your new tires and say "this could have been $600 in your pockets. Im gonna say you can run up to a 32. you may have to ranck the t-bars a bit, but probably not. I am running a 31. They run me $633 last year:

Yes I drive a Toyota 4Runner now, Yes this is a Ranger forum, get over it, the Ranger couldn't fit my child, but I do miss it.

I can't believe in todays economy a tire dealer would laugh at a customer, let alone a customer like yourself who wants AT tires on his 4X4 ranger. Like scott said, get a set of AT's drive over there and tell that Jackwagon (thanks Geico) he lost the company not only money, but customers as well.
which tire company was this?
