Question Load C Tire Recommendations

Looking for Load C tire recommendations in LT245/75-16 (stock is P255/70-16). Will likely be tire shopping in Spring 2011.

So far I have found the following tires that fit the bill:

1. Firestone Destination A/T
2. Toyo Open Country A/T
3. Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac
4. Falken High Country A/T

Mostly city and hwy driving with some gravel and mud laden forestry roads (work related). Snow performance is not an issue since I have studded winter tires.

Everything else is stock (no T-bar crank or body lift). I am assuming that LT265/75-16 will rub without T-bar cranking.

P-rated tires might be considered....not sure if they are durable enough (already had one puncture with an embedded piece of metal). Stock tire is the Goodyear Wrangler RT/S.

Thanks for any recommendations or advice.

Dave

Thanks for the replies.

I have added Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo to the list.

I have 27 inch BFG AT T/A KO on my Mazda RWD....found them to be pricey, noisy when gravel get stuck in the voids, long tread life, decent in snow, poor on ice, but look great. They won't be my first choice since it's a load E tire in the LT245/75-16 size.

I am running 235/75r15 Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs and I love the tire.
The tire isnt pricey and stands up well in all conditions.
They do real well off road and thats what I was llooking for.
I'm thinking about getting rid of them and pick up some bfg 32x11.5x15s if i can get the duratracs sold since im going the lifted way.The only reason I wont run duratracs when I go to 32s is because they dont offer them in that size, but if they did, thats what I would get.

Have you looked at General Grabber AT2?

I have a set on my Excursion and love them.

Basically it's a cheaper version of the BFG AT T/A KO. I have read mixed reviews on the Grabber AT2 however.....especially that's not as durable as the BFG's.

Right now, I am leaning towards the Firestone Destination A/T and the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo. The Duratracs are probably overkill....however, if I can get a good deal on them, they are in the mix too.
