Default aluminum vs metal rims

i know aluminum look better but ive heard they are weaker (specifically in the cold, which is a factor here in canada) and are more likely to dent/break if you hit curbs and hard objects...is this true or are aluminum just a strong as metal rims....however, i realize that chrome and aluminum rims look much better than plain old metal ones

take into consideration the harsh winter conditions i'd prefer the steel rims that i could just hose off versus the aluminum or chrome that is a nightmare to keep clean. my $.02

I've had both polished alloys and chrome and have never had a problem in the winter with snow and salt.

Aluminum are lighter which gives better fuel economy, look better & if kept clean, will increase the resale value.

Steel is tough, but they do bend if you hit a curb or a rock. They rust & then look like crap. And know one says "ohh cool, look at that Ranger for sale with those steel rims.

I have steel on mine as that's what the base XL comes with. But I will keep my eyes open for some good used 15in aluminum Ranger rims for it.

Really it boils down to personal preferance. Which ever you prefer is what you should get.

yeah, i agree that aluminum looks better but steel just seem like lower maintenance and i know a few guys who have spray paintes their steel rims all different colours, from silver to fluoresent green to red and blue, etc
looks good at times but sometimes its horrid and looks cheap but i love the fluoresent green on winter rims
