Default Jeep wheels....

I am off to look at two sets of Jeep wheels which have the same mounting as I require for my Ranger. What should I keep my eyes open for? Will the back spacing be similar to the Ranger? One set is steel while the other is aluminum. All the guy knows is that they were abandoned at a farm he just bought and a neighbour told him the were for a jeep. $200.00 for both sets. While I only need one set I think he may want to sell all. Comments.....Dave

These are Jeep Canyon 15X8 wheels:

Stock they will fit the rear, but WILL NOT go over the front hub without bein machined out.

Here are mine after bein machined out & used push-thru center caps:

Well, I went to look. It was about 35 miles for me each way and they were crap! One was ruined and the steel wheels weren't even a matched set. Thanks for the warning. I will just go and pay for a new set. People who lie to sell something....yuk.

Where (what kind of shop) did you go to to get them machined out?

Tirerack.com doesn't do me any good in Canada. Once the shipping, taxes and brokerage fees are added up it's a bust. I am going to see another set tomorrow which came off of a 2003 CJ Jeep. I wonder if they will be a problem fitting over the front hubs? Dave

Jeep Canyon & Gambler wheels the center hole is cone shaped, so no integrity loss when machined..............I took them to a friend of mine that worked at a manufacturin machine shop, they made tools, & specialty stuff for local business'. He put the wheels on his bore machine (looked like a BFA drill press), measured the inside of the rear of the hole, & the centers that I had gotten (I took a wheel with me to make sure I got the right size centers), measured it, and then bored the hole out to match the center. Cost me $10/wheel. Unfortunately the shop has since closed, the owner decided to retire & sold out.
