Default 3.73 and 33" tires: How much power do I lose

I have a 98 XLT 4.0 4x4 and am looking at putting 33's on it. It is primarily my daily driver but it is also my weekend wheeler until I get a project truck going.

Anyway, I was feeling good about this decision until I started looking at the tire size to gear ratio performance chart stickied in this forum. It looks like this is a great choice for the daily driver side, however just how much power will I be losing when I go off road? I'm not doing anything extreme yet, but I do run "Moderate trails" like the one in my signature below. Or even terrain like this. ( I was first so I didnt get shot coming down.)

I just want to make sure I don't lose too much power on those steep inclines.

I got 33's with 3.73 with a manual, the take off is really noticable from say having 32's and before that 30's.

But its ok. I'm not worrying about changing gears.

If you have an automatic you probably wont notice much.

Thanks much. It looks like the 33's win.

yep, youll notice it especially with a manual trans. i noticed it with my stock 4:10's when i went to 33's. my 4:56 gear swap was one of the best things i did for my truck and its a must especially if you use it off road or tow with it, your drive train will thank you.
