Default "15-16 inch tire "How To Correct Speedo"

Guys how can I get the speedo corrected, I am roughly about 4-4.5 miles off, so if I'm going 40 than my speedo reads 4-4.5miles more.

p.s I went from stock 15 inch to 2006 stock 16 inch .......Thanks!

I think ford can reset it. I think people have had them do it and it cost 75-100 dollars.

just always remember the speed when you are driving and you will be fine, thats what im doing and i dont think 75-100 bucks isnt even close to being worth it

This I know as I have been driving this way for quite some time now, I also know that it irks me, I would hate a relative driving my ranger and get a speeding ticket that not even I couldn't get them out of. I will wait until my lift and bigger tires.

i think its worth it. im really anal and having an off ODOMETER (not spedo) would really bother me a lot. the problem is finding a dealer to do it.

im ordering tires next week and ive called 3 dealers already and several 4x4shops and tire shops to see if any of them do it and hey all say no. im going to be calling around more dealers to see if can find one that will later this week.

it's not price it's because the dealers are wholes, and independents will do it

well the wheel size doesn't affect anything, its the tire size. and how much bigger/smaller are the tires going to be? from the factory, speedometers are usually 2-3% off from factory.

FYI: I called Ford the other day to see if they have the ability to recalibrate and they told me they could only do it within 2 sizes +/-. I challenged him on it and he said that's all there machine/computer has the ability to do. So basically what your door sticker says +/- 2 sizes. I call bullshit on their reasoning and believe they can calibrate to any size, I would have understood if they would have just told me the truth and it was a liability thing. Maybe other dealers are diff. I will check around. or maybe buying a tuner/programmer is the best route in the end.
