265/70R16 vs. 265/75R16. Pics???
265/70R16 vs. 265/75R16. Pics???
I'm getting a new set of BFG A/Ts in the next few days, but I can't decide which size. I think I've decided to stick with my factory 16" wheels, but should I go with 265/70R16s (31x10.5) or 265/75R16s (32x10.5). The 70s have a D load rating and the 75s have an E rating. Pros and Cons to each?
Any photos for comparison would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

I have 265/75/16 on my truck. I would suggest crank the t-bars to level it out.

265/70/16s are diameter-30.6" section width-10.4" section height-7.3"
265/75/16s are diameter-31.6" section width-10.4" section height-7.8"
hope that clears it up for ya..i went to 4wheelparts.com and used their tire height calculator

DANG! I had made up my mind to get 265/75s, but now I may have to reconsider. Those 265/70s look great! Love the FX4 logo as well. Nice touch

they both have the same kind of tires its just that STLs are about 31.6" tall and DieHard4rds are 30.6" tall so go with the 265/75s cuz there taller

Yeah...I know. I just think when it comes to mounting tires on factory wheels there is a fine line between picking a good looking/funtional tire size, and picking tires that look too big to be on factory wheels. I also understand the higher load rating of largers tires can change the ride quality. I don't know...I'm just picky. I don't want it to end up looking like the Ranger below (tires are a little too big IMO). This is just my own personal opinion. Maybe this helps everyone understand why I started this post. I'm not saying I'm against the 265/75s. I still may go with those. Just looking for answers, comments, and opinions. Thanks guys.

Re: 265/70R16 vs. 265/75R16. Pics???
i get what your saying but im pretty sure that that truck above has no t-bar crank and i think its an 08+ which has smaller rear blocks by an inch i believe. the load rating your looking for in our size truck is a C rating and you can find that in a 265/75 tire. i also assume that your stock tires are 245/75s right? well a 265/70 tire is the exact same size just an inch wider not any taller

Tbar crank and a add a leaf
Stock front ride rear has 3" blocks instead of the ford 2"

I see what you're saying, but just to clarify:
Factory tire size is 255/70R16 which is a 30.2
265/70R16s would be 1/2" taller than stock @ 30.7
265/75R16s would be 1 1/2" taller than stock @ 31.7

oh dang cuz on the inside of my door it says stock size is 245/75 but hmm..well ya gotta think about it being a circle its not really 1/2" taller its actually just a 1/4" more on each side cuz its destributed evenly

Final Thoughts ?
I need to get my tires in the next couple days in order to get the $60 BFG rebate. I don't know why, but i'm leaning toward the 265/70s. I guess I'm just worried about the higher load rating of the 265/75s and the loss of power and gas mileage of the larger tires. Any last minute thoughts before I pull the trigger???

Re: 265/70R16 vs. 265/75R16. Pics???
they still have 265/75 in the load rating C i believe and if you get a different rating it could just be a stiffer ride and you wont lose any gas mileage
