Default Brake help

Replaced rear breaks. New shoes and hardware and wheel cyl. driver rear was not working break line was plugged off when I got the truck in June. Here recently the rear passenger is staying on all the time. Removed drum and checked it could not see a problem. Back the slack adjusters off and drove for about a week and started again. Replace drum and it still appears to be locking up again. What would cause this it worked fine until replacing all parts and fixing driver side.

Did you mix up the brake shoes? IIRC the shoe with more lining material should face the rear of the truck.

Did you by chance use Raybestos brake shoes? Did you remember to pull slightly on the brake adjuster cable after assembly and before installing the drum to check for proper self adjuster operation?

*The teeth on those self adjuster wheels (and they are specific for left side and right side) are cut such that self adjustment is a one way, ratcheting event. You cannot swap left and right self adjuster screw wheel units; if you remove that small piece from the end of the adjuster you will normally see the letter L or R stamped onto the end of the screw in there.

*Edit: If you have any doubts about yours being assembled correctly, ask and I can post a pic of mine, which is assembled with full certainty the same way as it was new.
