hello all. Im a newbie and ready to ask some questions. I just purchased a 2003 ranger for my son and i am looking to buy some new tires and wheels for his truck. i am not really sure what i can get away with.
I have read several threads and get kind of mixed signals.
Here is what i found to purchase but i need to know if it will work.
I would like to purchase mickey thompson 33x12.50x15 tires and want to mount them to mickey thompson 15"x 10 wheels. Will this work?
I appreciate your alls help and input

hey man I understand your new so it doesnt bother me, but usually you will get responses like start your own thread, dont hijack this one etc, but ill leave that up to the moderators and admins. but welcome to answer your question, yes that tire will work fine on that rim. is the ranger 4x4 or 4x2? and if its a 4x4 you will need atleast a 3 inch body lift if you want to be able to tuck that tire good and not tear alot of your bumpers up. I know people say you can fit it stock but thats dumb. So IF the truck you speak of is a 4x4, then id do a 3inch body lift and then go with that tire and rim combination that ud like.

Your fine man, everyone does it. and well then you are good to go, you will be able to fit 33x12.5x15 on there. you might have to trim the front bumper just a tad but it just varies and if your truck is used and flexed out alot. just keep on eye on it and know your limits with it. I would suggest get a 15x8 rim if it doesn't have fender flares.

ha I can't guys, im leaving in 10 mins to go to work. and yeah sorry just tired, I sure was excited about my tires raising it 3 and a half inches lol but I guess the lift of 1.75 inches from the tires will be good enough

So basically I will be around 4.75 inches taller than stock, I still have my shackles to put in and can crank my t bars more. so I could end up getting around 6 inches in the rear, and appear 5 something inches taller in the front sitting still just not when compressed.

hoiw big are they? and will then you should be alright going 15x10. I dont like to really go that wide just for wheel bearings but plenty of people run it all day long. my truck doesnt have fender flares besides the small ones that are built into the body themselves so 15x8 will give me the same look as 15x10 will with fender flares, will be easier on my cv's and wheel bearings and will be cheaper. just depends on what you like, and what your setup is man.

welln ive got fender flares and i personally think a 15x8 wheel with like 3.75 bs wil stick out plenty with some 33x12.5 wheels

yeah im with you man. im 15x8 all the way but its his decision. not only are they more money but your talking about 3 to 4 inches wider than stock n thats alot of wear on cv's and wheel bearings. not to say it cant handle it but thats just my opinion. n for my truck especially with no fender flares, 15x8's are plenty.
