Default Donuts

I have a '99 ranger stepside (just got it a short time ago) and have all sort of details to take care of. One detail is the spare tire. Or rather, lack of a spare tire. I'm running 225/70/15's all the way around. Today I couldn't pass up a deal on a "donut" and went ahead a bought it.
(I do a lot of impulse buying - wives, scooters, cars, trucks - anything expensive) Just kidding about the wives, but everything else is pretty much true. Back to the subject at hand: The donut is the correct bolt pattern - 4.5 - but the diameter is 16. Will this thing work for an emergency spare? I'm not planning on ever using it, but don't feel comfortable with no spare at all. BTW, it is a 2WD. Thanks for wading thru this, and any advice will be greatly appreciated. Bill

Donut? Really? I guess in an emergency it could get ya home but for god's sake try it on before you need to. If it dont fit throw it away!

It's a smaller diameter, skinny "emergency only" tire. Very temporary uses.

Let me get this right. You paid for a donut spare and put yourself at risk instead of searching craigslist for a full sizr spare? Do yourself a favor and everyone else on the road and impulse yourself a fullsize spare.
