02 escape rims to 09 ranger?
I have an 02 escape that I'm giving to my son and have a spare set of rims with tires 235 70 16 for the escape. Will they fit an 09 Ranger sport 2WD?As I would like to use the spare rims to mount snow tires.
Thanx Steve

If the Escape rims have a 5x4.5" bolt pattern, they should bolt up.. I'm not sure that they are though, nor do I know the offset/backspacing....

I am pretty sure the Escapes are front wheel drive which will usually give an offset that will not work on a Ranger...IIRC

Look on your door sticker it will say the rim size 16x7 or 15x7 then have 2 letters if they are the same the offset is the same from what I saw on another forum

^^ lol. thats funny. i think the escape wheels (offset and backspacing) would be slightly different in the rear also since it has all around Independent suspension

Since you were going to buy (I'm assuming) new snow tires for the extra set of Escape wheels, you could just give them to your son so he can have a second set with snow tires, and get yourself some cheap steelies for the Ranger that you know will fit properly....

This pic was unbelievably useful when I was sizing tires for a set of stock Explorer 16x8J rims I picked up off of Craigslist for $100 for my poor Ranger.
Thanks SO MUCH for posting this photo. I was able to thoroughly ignore what the tire guy was saying and buy tires I could be sure would work great.

escape wheels will not work, i tired to put some on my 2001, while the bolt pattern was the same, where the problem came in was the hub size on the escape is smaller then the ranger

ok check out this web site http://www.lugpattern.net/Ford_Bolt_Patterns3.htm the rim size doesn't matter as long as its over 15". u check the lug pattern and the "HUB/CENTER BORE" the ford ranger and the escape have the same lug pattern witch is 5x114.3 now the HUB/CENTER BORE of the escape is 67.1 and the ranger is 70.3 witch makes the escapes center bore smaller stopping the rim from fitting on the ranger unless u wanna space it and risk lug symmetrizing(woo big word for centering) the rims witch can cause the lug bolts to break, i have lug symmetric (bmw)rims on a hub(civic) rims for a year now and iv broken 2 studs from driving down the road, worst part is if u don't center it just right your vehicle will hop all over like the tires out of balance
