so i learned yesterday that my uncles girlfriend sells mastercraft tires (cooper off brand). We were discussing about my truck, and i mentioned the horrible wet traction the current tires get (prime well p100 265/75/16). They have horrid wet traction, and i figure disaster prone snow+ice traction, this is due to the medium sized solid tread blocks with no siping! i have nearly spun out giving it gas at 30 mph on a damp highway (was behind someone doing 30 in a 55 (was giving it just under half throttle on the pass and not even an aggressive turn)). They seem to hydroplane readily on damp road and much worse when its down pouring.
My uncle has a 02 silverado with Mastercraft HTRs and they really surprised him on the grip he gained during the winter. (we live in western new york, so weather during the winter is very hazardous due to lake effect snow)
so i have the option to get mastercraft tires at a low price.
Tires available in 245/75/16
courser AT/2 (decent siping, typical AT tire)
courser c/t-c (beefey aggressive off road look, meh on the siping)
courser HTR (highway tire, plenty of siping)
courser MSR (severe weather tire, probably dedicated winters)
courser MT (studdable blocky tire)
Courser R/D (ribbed tire, dont need it)
