Default 33" Tires with Fiberglass fenders????????????

Hola. So the dilemmaaa. I eventually want to have a long travel prerunner. I am in the process of designing a long travel suspension which will be built with my gf's father (expert fabricator) over many weekends. Since thats a ways off, I want to get my truck looking a little meaner. So I want to put bigger tires, glass fenders, tube bumpers, spacers, and then coat it all in bedliner lol.

So. Will 33x12.5x15 on 15x8 wheels on my 2002 xlt stock ranger if it also had:
Fiberglass front fenders (6" flare, 3" rise)
Pulled or glass rear fenders
Tube front bumper (no stock bumper)
Wheel spacers
???????????????????

If needed I would be willing to purchase Camburg coil springs that offer 2.5 lift in the front for 250.00 (idek if I can run just these coils w/ stock suspension I assume you can tho) even tho I hate buying things I will eventually get rid of.

This article embodies exactly what I want to do. This truck in the article is running 35's with a little T-bar crank and its a 4x4 so taller ride height anyways. But other than that its bone stock with a one piece clip, glass rears, bumpers, and 3" spacers up front (and sick wheels )

So in theory I feel like I could do the same with smaller 33" and just fiberglass fenders. (that one piece is sick but slightly impractical for everday use, even tho thats a dd for a major offroad shop here in vegas)

But still im no expert

some of you are so please help.

Sorry couldnt get pics directly in this post, they have no useable url and they cant be saved to my comp as far as i know. but check out the page.

Sweet! I will use fiberglass bedside, pulled bedsides arent always the best looking, plus mine have holes on the top of them from who ever previously owned the truck, theyd have to be welded up and grinded down.

I wont be using flares that tall though. They will be seperate fenders 6" wider than stock and I think 3 or 4" taller than stock. They will basically be flush with the hood.

Anyone know where to get 3" wheel spacers for our trucks like mentioned in the article? or should I stick to 2"/2.5" and rely on the rest from an aftermarket wheels offset?

3 inch is really wide for only 5 lugs i would not do that wide i would try smaller it would stress the front parts alot for 3 inches but if it's what u want than go for it but i would hate to see u jump and stuff snap and break

I am thinking 3"-2.5" just to complete the look. I would not ever EVER jump the truck with a stock suspension, I wont touch a jump till I have long travel. It would put unnecessary stress on the parts but not anymore than all those big lifted diesels with massive offsets on their wheels and stock hubs. The truck would be my DD and the most offroad it would see until a custom suspension would be dirt roads at the most light whoops.

than i would do for 3 if u are not going to do serius offroading and also make sure ur ball joints are new or good and u have a fresh alinment so it wont strain it and leave the tires kinda crooked and wearing on only the edge and part of the side wall and if the ball joints are bad spaceing the rims and tires out 3 inches will stress them more and make them crooked more and eventully might snap or god knows what else just telling u this so u stay safe and don't have to waste money if it breaks on things u don't need to spend money on if u know what i mean

For sure. Right now its more important that my truck drives well and reliable as it is my only means of transportation. For that reason I want to focus on aesthetics and egnine performance, while still working towards my goal of someday having a long travel ranger.

But still I am not sure if I want true long travel (well of course I do) but mid-travel sounds more suitable for a DD, but i would go all the way and build boxed lower arms as well, so it seems like I should just take it farther at that point. The only difference would be more expensive shocks and components, and having to cut the coil bucket out and plate it back in..

We'll see.

Whats a good way to check your balljoints? Are they replaceable without replacing the entire arm?

yup and i would do mid travel u still can do serius offroading yet drive home without any probs and check ur ball joints by looking at ur front end and if ur tires are leaning in on the top of the tire and leaning out on the bottom they are bad or u need a alinment

Ok Ill check them when I have a chance. Ive decided Ill go mid travel, boxed lower arm, upper arm, and spindle with Dana 35 snouts, hubs/rotors, and bearings. It will retain the stock coil bucket, so I will use a camburg coil and then run a fox 8" 2.0 smoothie with a resivor and a fox 2" air bump. the only frame modification I will have to do then is cut the top of the coil bucket to let the longer 8" shock come thru. I plan on plating up the frame to strengthen it as well. My main reason is its way cheaper for to build (coils+shocks= 600 true coil overs=1200) and since there is frame modification it can go back to stock if needed (minus the longer shock)

Will look like this= http://www.blitzkriegoffroad.com/pro...ger_mid_travel

However, I think I may go with less lift depending on how it will affect my travel #s
