Exclamation Painting stock wheels

So took some steel wool, a sandpaper bar thing, a rag, and some paint removing chemical goo and helped my little brother prep his stock 06 ranger base model wheels for some black paint.

The flash makes this picture misleading but still looks cool haha.

Ill get pics soon of when its all done

Got some clearcoat thats gonna go on them too

Those came out really well. Eventually I'll get mine done but I'm gonna keep them silver. I have those deep dish spoked steel wheels though, sanding the back side is gonna be a bitch.

Rust-Oleum automotive wheel paint (black) from autozone. Also used their clear coat too.

I was at Auto zone today looking at paints. Did you use the paint remover first? Primer?

I did the same thing, but i used some really rough sand paper, rinsed it with water after sanding them a little bit, then used dupli-color semi gloss spray paint, and just sprayed it on without taking them off or masking them, and with one coat, so far they lasted even while doing peel outs on gravel and dirt roads, the paint on the tires either blended in or flaked off. Here's the most recent pictures
