Re: 285's
Friend of mine he could rub his wheels. However that was only extreme flexing.

Re: 285's
Just put the tires on now and install the body lift later.

x2.
I have essentially the same setup and it's easy to get the hang of what will cause a rub, and how to avoid it. The few times I do rub I know I'm going to rub before it even happens. Now, if you're crawling rocks or do crazy flexing like that, then yeah you'll likely run into issues.

Re: 285's
I barely rub at full lock and have yet to rub while flexing.

Yeah one of the SoCal guys had 31" inch tires with a 3" spindle lift & AAL and he would complain about rubbing. On the other hand, there were a few SoCal guys that had 32s & no lift or 33s & a 3" spindle lift and didn't seem to have an issue with rubbing. So basically I think it boils down to A) What kind of offroading you plan to do (eg: amount of flexing) B) Driving style

Re: 285's
or C) your wheels. If he's going to be running stock wheels he'll be fine.
