What size wheels/tires will fit without lift
I have a 2002 XLT 4WD Supercab and am looking to buy chrome wheels. The factory wheels are 16'' and tires are 245 75 16. I am wondering if I put bigger wheels (17 or 18) on without doing any lifts. If I can, will I have to get low profile tires? I want to know what will look best if any of you have experience with this. I do not go off-road.

well check this out if you have to stick to low profile tires these look really good even look a little beefy from side veiw there good year wranglers mines 235/75/15 a couple pics to better help you out usually jeeps use these with crome wheels, you can turn lettering to inside my experience w/ these 2wd, i can burn out and they spin like mad n scwall like a goodyear lolz, grab great in high speed brakeing at 40+miles an hr,n kick it down to 4x4 they have better traction than 2wd,work great for snow.

Kyle, not to bust your balls or anything but use some grammar. I have no idea of what you're trying to say in your post.
Anyways... If you crank your t-bars you can fit 285/75's on your stock wheels without any problems and it will look like this:

Re: What size wheels/tires will fit without lift
Thanks Tyler. Your truck looks great. What is involved with cranking t-bars? I have no clue. Also, if I do no suspension changes, can I go up to 265x75 without rubbing.
I am considering doing a 17 inch chrome wheel, so if I do, I am thinking I will have to push my tires size down some.

Re: What size wheels/tires will fit without lift
I have a 2008 Ford Ranger Supercab XLT 2wd, I want to get bigger tires for it, but I do NOT want to lift or trim anything. What is the biggest size I can get with out rubbing? This would just be for looks, not to go mudding like crazy.

Re: What size wheels/tires will fit without lift
Damn if I can't figure out how to post a new thread. Until I do, I will try posting here. I have a 2002 XLT supercrew and want to buy running boards from a 2008 Fx4 Super via Craigslist. The brackets look the same and same distance apart, but the boards are about 5 inches longer on the 08. Do you know if this poses any problem? She lives on the other side of town, or I would get a better look. I am curious if stock running boards have changed on Rangers and if so what year.

Supercrew? Do you mean Supercab
and the difference will be whether or not your truck has 2 or 4 doors. The brackets are slightly different for 2 and 4.

Re: What size wheels/tires will fit without lift
Yeah we both have the extended cab. Mine is 4 door if you count the little doors that open. Isn't that as 4 door as rangers come, or have they changed?

Re: What size wheels/tires will fit without lift
There is only supercab 2 door and supercab 4 door not super crew. is the other ranger a 4door?
Check these out:
Extended Cab or Supercab Nerf Bars?
Nerf bar style factory running boards installation
Use the search tab at the top (Nerf Bar,Running board, side step etc.). I sold some on here a while back and there is quite a bit of discussion on what will work and what wont.

Re: What size wheels/tires will fit without lift
AH HA. thanks for answering my question. I didnt realize the new 4 doors are actually doors, and not the kind you open from the inside like my 4 door is.

Re: What size wheels/tires will fit without lift
NO. there is no true 4 door ranger. a 4 door ranger has the suicide doors.
Like yours is a 4 door supercab and mine is a 2 door supercab, thats it.
Edit: i take that back, no true 4 door in the states ( dont let that confuse you, for the purposes of our discussion there is no true 4 door ranger.)

Re: What size wheels/tires will fit without lift
Ok thanks. I guess they just made the running boards longer on the newer models to be fashionable. Instead of being flat on the ends they are kind of slanted, so maybe that accounts for part of the 5 inches. I plan on driving across town now and buying the newer set from a total stranger with a totaled ranger =), since they appear to mount up the same.
