Negative. Within a set parameter, The lighter you can make the four corners of the vehicle in unsprung weight the better it will handle, brake, and accelerate.
There is no "momentum" per se` unless you rolled from the top of a hill or accelerated to a certain speed and either let off the gas/took it out of gear until you came to a stop or turned off the engine. Something like that would apply more to a Boy Scouts pinewood derby car.
