Default common for wheel leak?

I've had my '03 Edge for 8 months now and 2 of the tires need air every week. The tires were put on new when I bought it and I can see no damage to the tires or wheels. I have seen something like this before on my 4Runnner. After many years the wheels corroded on the inside to the point where they would slowly leak air.
I would like to know if anyone has heard of wheel corrosion causing air leaks on a Ranger. It is common? I can't think of what else could be causing the problem.

If you have steel wheels on, this might be a possibility but not too likely for an aluminum wheel. Have a similar issue I've had to chase around on my Xterra 4X from wheel to wheel of all things.

Couple things I would check is valve stem seal, or a possible bad bead setting in which case I would have the tire R&R and reset the bead and replace the valve stem seal too. On one particular occasion we had a TPMS sensor leaking through the valve stem itself. Still trying to figure that one out.

Before you do all of that, you could take a spray bottle with a heavy dish soap mix, and liberally spray around the inner and outer bead as well the valve seal OR inflate it an extra 10PSI and stick it in a small tub of water and start looking for bubbles that way too.

Thanks. I didn't even think about the valves.

BTW I also have a Xterra Pro 4X. I'm using the Ranger to keep the miles off it. I want to keep that vehicle for a long time. They don't make anything like that anymore.

Love the Xterra and the Pro4X trim. We have a 2013 Xterra 4X in-house as one of our demo/shop build vehicles. Both are great vehicles, for different reasons of course; we cater to both platforms including the Frontier sibling, also in both generations.

It was sad to see Nissan derail and extinguish the platform. Hearsay is they've realized the mistake and are working on an improved design but. We'll see what they come out with.
