31s on stock 2010 4x4?
I have searched the forum and found several posts about this question but I can't seem to find a clear, good answer. I have a 2010 XLT 4x4 with 235/75r15s on it right now and I want to fit 31s. I have stock 15x7 factory rims. I have found 265/75r15s and some people say they will fit no problem. Will they rub on full lock or over bumps? I know they lowered Rangers in 2008 and the tire size chart only goes up to 2008.

That is a very wide, heavy tire for a Ranger. It would kill fuel mileage and acceleration unless you change rear axle gears.

What the fuck?? No it's not even close to a heavy tire. I've worn condoms with more rubber than a 31 inch tire. You're giving out bad advice and you need to stop, you're full of shit and you have no personal experience working on these trucks.
Yes the tires will fit. I've only heard of them rubbing on the 2WD's at full lock in reverse but mine never did.

I see you are still an a$$hole. Sorry you have to compensate for your small hands with oversized tires.
I guess I will put you back on my "Ignore this fool" list.

I've always been an *******.
All I got from that was "screw you anyways" instead of anything valid. Enjoy

Regardless of the fight between the two of you, the information you posted above was simply 100% wrong. 31's are a stock tire size on some Rangers and the impact on acceleration and fuel mileage is limited even without gearing changes.

31 inch was not a stock tire on a ford ranger but if you are not geared for it you will notice a difference.the two largest tire sizes were 235/75/15 and 255/55/16. No 31😆

31's were a stock tire size. On the FX4 Level II's which have the same motor and transmission and axle ratio as a lot of the others

Re: 31s on stock 2010 4x4?
anyways don't want to argue but that tire change will throw off gas mileage calculation because of 7% change in tire circumference

Just for the record I wasn't arguing with you. I was referring to the guy who is talking out of his ass.
You won't even notice a change in your gas mileage. Maybe slightly more sluggish but from a 235/75/15 which is a damn 30" tire, going up one measly inch won't differ at all. I've had every size tire between 28"-35" on my truck. It's not any different.

Re: 31s on stock 2010 4x4?
For the record, my '99 came stock with 30.5" tires (245/75-16), and as stated above the FX4's (L2 at least) were on 31's from the factory.

Re: 31s on stock 2010 4x4?
I have had 31X10.50s on my 2011 since it was pretty new and never had any rubbing issues...that is until I recently got a brand new set of BFG KO2s and the only time they rub, is when I'm backing up with it cranked all the way to the left, and the RF tire rubs on a rubber flap on the inner front part of the wheelwell. I need to see if I can pull it away from the tire with a ziptie or maybe just get rid of it all together.

I know this is an old thread but just want clarify a few things... 31s were pretty much a stock tire size for some 4wd TTB rangers depending on what trim or whatever. They were given 265/75/r15 from the factory from 1993 to 1997. Which a 265/75/r15 is just a 3/8 long **** hair shy of a 31 tire, and no it will not noticeably change fuel mileage and you will definitely not need to change gearing in your axles, thats ignorant
