Default Tallest Highway Tires For 2 Wheel Drive

According to the tire size chart posted, the 30x 9.50x 15 off road tire is basically the tallest tire that can be used with no fender rubs on a 1999 XLT 2 wheel drive (without a T-bar crank). I want to stick with tall highway tires, so will 245/75r/15 work on this model truck? I currently have 235's, but would like to go just one size bigger without using the taller off road tires . Any suggestions???

A 29" tire is a 29" tire. Just because it is an aggressive tread doesn't mean the tire is measured or sized differently.

245/75/15 is a 29.5x9.6" tire, so according to the chart it will fit

Thanks for the info. It appears the 245/75r/15's are close to the overall size of 30/9.50/15 aggressive tread tires. So they will work. Walmart refused to put this size tire on my truck. They will no longer install oversize tires on a vehicle (due to lawsuits from bad drivers that cost Walmart millions). They will only install the same size tires that came on the vehicle. The same goes for utility trailers. So I no longer use Walmart when it comes to buying tires .

I don't trust Walmart Auto Center. While I was waiting for an oil change a tow truck dropped off a 2006 F-150. Nice clean truck, 6 inch lift with a locked up motor. Why? Because one of their "mechanics" somehow either screwed the oil filter on wrong or messed up the gasket somehow and the truck pissed out all the oil and the motor blew up. Dude got fired for sure.

Luckily my brother was the one doing my oil change that day, but I never went back lol.

The little shop with the Hispanics are the best. Pay them cash and they'll put a 37" tire on it if you want them to, haha. No questions asked, you give them money, they do it.

Got annoyed with Firestone once because they wouldn't use my K&N oil filter which I supplied. I understand the underlying reasons, but still annoying.

Seems kind of strange that you claimed to run a auto repair business, among other things, but get your oil changed at a Walmart.
