Hey Guys,
Getting ready to order some new tires/wheels for my 2005 Ranger. Gonna get the Ultra Baja Champ 16x8 for summer and gonna get the factory wheels powdercoated black for winter. So, what's a good summer tire and whats a good winter tire?

dang you but different season tires! just get the BFG A/Ts, they are great in all seasons

I'm running BFG AT's on my Bronco. I like them a lot. They do everything I need them to do.

I've also heard good things about the General AT2's and Nitto Terra Grapplers.

I'll attest to the Terra Grapplers being good. I have them and I love em. Couple others on here have them too.

im not a big fan of my bfg at's in the snow or mud but they are really good on dirt and pavment.

Picked up the new wheels and tires yesterday. Didn't put the wheels on Ranger yet, but he is a pick next to the Superdutys tires. Haven't bought a "winter" tire yet. Probably will run an all-terrian.

Installed tires/wheels friday night. Got Kumho tires on Ultra Baja Champ Wheels. Kept stock wheels for winter, gonna buy a AT tire for winter.

I have never heard of anyone buying different tires for the seasons. why not buy a tire that handles it all?

Over here, it's a law.

Of course trucks were exempted for a short period, because winter tires didn't exist for truck purposes, but companies are coming up with rubbish new ways to make money and making crappy all season tires with slightly different thread to get the snowflake on a mountain logo.

I just got a slightly more aggressive tires with the snowflake so i can keep them all year long (Goodyear Wrangler Territory) and still do light trails.

It's getting the same up here in canada too. In one province, we have to buy winter tires now.

Where I'm from in Michigan usually passenger cars have to do the same. We'd buy a set for the front (if you had front wheel drive) and drive it through the winter and then when spring started to arrive you'd swap back to your all seasonal. Vice a versa for rear wheel drive.

I'm running 33x12.5x15 BFG AT's. Should I swap out for the stock sized tires for winter since these are so wide? I'm a little weary that they may "float" on the snow.
