I'm running 33x12.5x15's And im wondering if I should go with Stock sized tires for winter. I am little weary that these tires will "float" in the snow as they are quite wide, we get a lot of really slushy snow in NS.

yeah I run 33x12.5 (they're mt's but still wide) on a 15x8 wheel and I did fine in the snow last winter

that's a nice pair of trucks you got there. So those are the same wheels on the Ranger and the SD? different specs obviously but you know what I mean. I plan on doing the same thing at some point, powdercoated factory wheels with winter tires and summer wheel/tire.

what factory wheel did you have?

Thanks. Yes, Both have "Baja Champ" Wheels. Superduty has 20x12, ranger 16x8. I think I changed my mind on powdercoating. Got a price $30 a wheel for sandblasting, plus another $70 a wheel for powdercoating, $100 bucks a wheel is the same price as buying a completely different set of wheels, so Im just gonna run the ol' stockers for winter with a AT tire.

well we get alot of snow in michigan and most smart people i know always get a smaller tire for winter than their 12.50 wide they go with a 10.50 31 inch tire if they have 33's but my 33/10.50 bfg km2s were beasts last winter and out performed what i expected them to in the snow and ice

Firestone makes a very good winter tire from what I've been told if you are looking for a dedicated set of winter tires. Coopers weren't bad in my experience but it depends on if you have 4X4 or not with them. If not, don't go with Coopers.

As far as just buying two tires, for the drive wheels, I would recommend against it. The front tires do the majority of the braking and need the better traction of a winter tire to keep you in control. Of course, the better traction would be handy if you want to steer too... JM2C
