I'm curious how many of you have actually had the vacuum locking hubs fail on your truck. I bought a 2000 with the vacuum lock hubs expecting that they would give me trouble but so far they've been flawless this winter. My truck has 200k miles on it so I figured on having to replace with manual hubs due to what I've read about the vacuum system, but I've put that on hold as long as the vacuum hubs still work.

28,576 at last count.

If you haven't had problems..Then enjoy & consider yourself lucky. PVH wasn't one of Fords better ideas on these trucks.

both of my 2000's have the live axle setup from the factory. my friend's '98 the PVH hubs have failed ( we discovered this in about 3 feet of snow back on his property a few years back.)
