15x7 rims
Any decent 15x7 rims out there? The ones I've seen I don't like so figured I'll come here and see. Asking because I'm not sure if I want the tire sticking out with a 15x8. Or anything that fits with +12mm offset

Not really a huge market for 7" wide wheels when talking about a wheel designed for the truck segment anymore.
Also, since you've said you don't like the ones you've seen...what 'type' and/or style are you looking for - or not looking for?
It's hard to make general recommendations.....
That said, here are the search results from a few random places:
Tire Rack = 1999 Ranger, 7" Wide Wheels
4WheelParts = 1999 Ranger, 7" Wide Wheels
Discount Tire = 1999 Ranger, 7" Wide Wheels

Re: 15x7 rims
Very true. I'll have to try and dig up the ones i've seen. Didn't really cross my mind when posting. Are there 8' wide rims that don't really stick out too much?

If you run 8" wide wheels with the same backspacing as stock (4.5") - the outside edge of the new wheel will only be 1" further outboard than the stock 7" setup.

Re: 15x7 rims
Why don't you want the tire sticking out? It looks better and adds some stability.

I really don't think you'll notice anything with a 1" wider wheel. IMO the offset/backspace makes a much bigger impact on how much they "stick out"
These are for your reference.
Here's a bone stock Ranger with 15x10 & 3.75 backspace.
31x10.50 Dunlop mud rovers
Here's mine leveled with 15x6 stockers and 31x10.50 BFG's
I also sported 35 inch tires on the stock 15x6 wheels, they sat flush with the fenders, I also have a spindle lift that increased my front track width 4 inches.
It wasn't until I ran wider wheels and 3.75 backspace that made a huge impact.
According to Logan's cheat sheet, my wheels are 6.25" outboard - meaning they "stick out" 3.75" more than stock.

Back when I was a little kid, I got pulled over by a cop on a rainy day and ticketed for violation a WA state law regarding "excessive spray to the rear" due to wide tires. The "friendly cop" surely smelled and noticed the fresh, barely week old paint on my attention generating car and kindly suggested that I correct the violation of law by "fiberglassing some fender flares onto the quarter panels". Something to think about, if one doesn't like socializing with the police on less than pleasant terms.

Eh, it really depends. The cops here will not waste their time with tint, fender flares, mud flaps, loud music, etc.
On Christmas Eve in 2012 I got clocked on the highway doing 98 and he let me go because "Merry Christmas" - Which is why I have no problems with my tires sticking 5" past my fenders.
It all depends on the driver of the vehicle. Gotta pay to play.
But with the OP wanting to run an 8" wide wheel on tires maybe no bigger than 31 or 33, they should be pretty inset. But of course, with the correct backspace.

Lol I'll have to find the citation for it. He gave me a fix-it ticket for a cracked windshield but on the paper it says "approx speed - 98"
