Default Going Up In Wheel Size

I recently bought 16x8 wheels for my 2wd Ranger that has 15x7 stock. The stock tires are 225/70R15's, and i was thinking about fitting the new wheels with 235/65R16's. I was wondering if these would be okay and not rub or anything, since my ranger is stock and has nothing done to the suspension.

I didn't really understand the chart. I'm pretty new to all this stuff so I don't really know what I'm doing.

Alright then, no worries.

You can fit 31x10.50x15 on a stock Ranger. The tires you selected are much smaller, so your tires will clear just fine.

Hi
I just put explorer sport trac wheels (16x8) with Kumho 21570R16 Solus kl21 tires on my stock xlt ranger. No prob on rear. Front has a small rub on upper arms (both l & r) if I lock steering. I'm thinking about 1-1/2" spacers to pull them out.

Do you have any offset? And 215 on a 8 inch wheel? Does that even fit? And what year is your ranger?

If his tires are rubbing his upper control arms then that is a big problem. The Explorer wheels have deeper backspace than the Ranger wheels do. Just buy wheels that fit your vehicle.

Not to mention that a 215 wide tire on an 8 inch wide wheel?
That tire is designed to run on a wheel that is between 5.5" - 7"
(Yes I know I'm doing the same thing)

I would think that a tire shop would not have a fun day trying to mount those.

The wheels I bought are American Racing Ar898 I think and they were recommended for rangers. I just went from a 15x7 to a 16x8 so I would assume I'm okay.

7" wide wheel w/ 4.50" Backspacing (+12mm offset) - meaning 2.50" outboard. (Stock)
8" wide wheel w/ 4.50" Backspacing (0mm offset) - meaning 3.50" outboard. (aka - 1.00" further "out" than stock as well as being the same distance inward as stock)

2000 Ranger xlt 2WD

15" wheels had 4.5 backspace
16x7 new wheels -- 8" was mistake on my part--
16" Sport Trac wheels have 5.25 backspace. Just gonna run on rear w/ snow tires.

My bro-n-law gave me his old '02 Jeep Liberty wheels (16x7"). The BP is the same.
Center Hole is too small for front hub.
1.5" wheel spacers will push 'em out so they clear grease cap on front hub.
