Rangers only ever came with band sensors. It's a metal band in the deepest part of the wheel with the sensor attached to. It is also 180 degrees from the valve stem. These sensors batteries are also only rated to last for 5-7 yrs. although some last longer.
Band sensors are more difficult to swap to a new wheel than a typical valve stem sensor. So if your light has been on since you got new wheels and stayed on then the sensors were probably not swapped over. If the light came on at a different time then one or more of the batteries are dying/dead.
You can go to a shop to get a tpms reset. My shops charges like $16 for it. They will be able to tell you if they are getting a reading from none (leading to believe they weren't swapped over to the new wheels) or if one sensor is dead. New sensors typically run $80-130 depending on the shop. Most people just don't worry about the light and watch their tire pressure.
