Lightbulb looking for the stance!!

I want my wheels to stick out about 2 to 3 inch and I was looking at 15x8s with 265/75/15 tires (I plan on getting a 3 in bl) would that make them stance out far or what? Lol I heard 15x10s would be too much for stock gears, can anyone help me out, size, backspacing ect..

First off whoever told you 15x10 will be to much for gears isn't smart and don't take advice from them. The wheel siZe does nothing for gears. The 15x10 will stick out. On a stock truck won't look good and most likely will rub. Being 15x10 you will have to rub wider tires than stock. Or what your looking to get.

15x8 would be about the max for that tire size. You would have to run a wider tire for a 15x10.

I plan on getting 33/12.50's just wondering what size rim would make them stick out the best.

One of my favorite "copy & paste" answers:

Alright - here we go:

Most guys get an 8" wide wheel with around 3.75" of backpacking so it 'sticks out' more than stock....however, it sounds like you really want it to stick out more.

Here is a little cheat sheet I put together for comparison - Just pick your poison:

7" wide wheel w/ 4.50" Backspacing (+12 offset) - meaning 2.50" outboard. (Stock)
7" wide wheel w/ 4.00" Backspacing (0 offset) - meaning 3.00" outboard. (aka - .50" further "out" than stock as well as being .50" inward less than stock)
8" wide wheel w/ 3.25" Backspacing (-32 offset) - meaning 4.75" outboard. (aka - 2.25" further "out" than stock as well as being 1.25" inward less than stock)
8" wide wheel w/ 3.75" Backspacing (-19 offset) - meaning 4.25" outboard. (aka - 1.75" further "out" than stock as well as being .75" inward less than stock)
8" wide wheel w/ 4.00" Backspacing (-12 offset) - meaning 4.00" outboard. (aka - 1.50" further "out" than stock as well as being .50" inward less than stock)
8" wide wheel w/ 4.50" Backspacing (0 offset) - meaning 3.50" outboard. (aka - 1.00" further "out" than stock as well as being the same distance inward as stock)
10" wide wheel w/ 3.25" Backspacing (-57 offset) - meaning 6.75" outboard. (aka - 4.25" further "out" than stock as well as being 1.25" inward less than stock)
10" wide wheel w/ 3.50" Backspacing (-51 offset) - meaning 6.50" outboard. (aka - 4.00" further "out" than stock as well as being 1.00" inward less than stock)
10" wide wheel w/ 3.75" Backspacing (-44 offset) - meaning 6.25" outboard. (aka - 3.75" further "out" than stock as well as being .75" inward less than stock)
10" wide wheel w/ 4.00" Backspacing (-38 offset) - meaning 6.00" outboard. (aka - 3.50" further "out" than stock as well as being .50" inward less than stock)
10" wide wheel w/ 4.50" Backspacing (-25 offset) - meaning 5.50" outboard. (aka - 3.00" further "out" than stock as well as being the same distance inward as stock)

Note: All of the above measurements are referencing the wheel position only - Additional consideration/clearance should be made for the planned tire size.

Additional Information: The easiest way to measure backspace is to lay the wheel face down onto the ground so the backside of the wheel is facing up. Take a straight edge and lay it across the flange of the wheel. Take a tape measure and measure the distance from the hub mounting to where it crosses the straight edge. This distance is the backspacing measurement of the wheel.

When comparing two wheels with a common width - The one with a smaller backspacing number will 'stick out more' than the one with a larger backspacing.

For me I think a truck without flares looks bad with 10 inch wide wheels I think they stick out to far. Flares give the truck a wider look so it doesn't look bad. I had a set brand new in boxes and sold them cause I didn't like how far it stuck out.

I have mickey classic II with i think 3.3 backspacing. The stick out about an inch from the flare

Edit. They stick out about an inch on a flareless truck
