Talking BFG vs. GOODYEAR

I have a 2004 Ford Ranger Edge V6 3.0L Stepside, currently running 31" BFG All Terrain KO, I am planning on doing the Torsion Bar Lift and Trim if necessary.
I'm also running the stock 15 x 7 RIMS

A question of preference.

OPTION 1:

BFG Mud-Terrain T/AŽ KM2
Size: 33x12.50R15/C 108Q

OPTION 2:

GOODYEAR Wrangler MT/R with Kevlar
Size: 33X12.50R15LT - 108Q

PRICE: there is not much difference and to me, it doesn't matter.

QUESTIONS:

1. Which tire will hold up longer as a daily driver on the road?
20 - 100 miles daily

2. Which tire looks better?

3. Are there any fella's out there with either tire that can post a picture with your comment. good/bad

BACKGROUND:

I have always run BFG's in the past, and I have no real reason to go to Good Year other then, I personally like the looks of the MTR better.

I just want a little help making the decision.

right on key, its all about what you want. but beens your asking opinions I would hands down choose BFG everytime. Im not saying that goodyear sucks but I just love BFG always have so if it was between them two then there ya go. NOW, one last thing. Its obvious that you are looking for a mud terrain and DONT take this the wrong way but obviously from your set up you said this more than likely isnt going to be a mud truck, just a good looking DD that you can play in? im in no way bashing on your truck because thats exactly what mine is, but for me or someone like you that im feeling is in the same ballpark, expensive mud terrains are a tad over kill. So if you really do want a mud terrain and willing to pay the extra money than by all means be my guest, thatd b sweet but id look into the nitto mud graps. Im not going to comment and say its better than those 2 MT's because I honestly do not have my own opinion because I have never owned them, some like BFG mud terrain better, othes like the Nitto. BUt I think personally on appearance ALONE, the nitto mud graps kill them 2 especially BFG (even though I hate to say it) so if your really only "needing" an AT but wanna step up to a MT for whatever reason, like I said I am not bashing, its 100% up to you, then I'd like into the Nitto mud graps. Hope this helps, Zach.

I have heard that before but I was just going on what I thot he was meaning. Especially when he said he had no reason to get the goodyear except for looks and for what I can tell im guessing he doesnt really HAVE to have an MT anyways, I figured he just wanted some. SO with all that an just going on appearance I think the nitto looks the best, but I will agree that I have heard that alot especially if the tires are mainly for looks and on the road alot, it just likes to chew them up but If ya got the money and just want the look, I guess why not you know

Yea...Thanks

I don't need the Mud-Terrain, just really like the look.

With that said I'm really digging the MTR's sidewall's, they look very aggressive, I asked around a few truck shops out here and the answers so far has been: Before Goodyear came out with the MTR's, everyone said hands down go with BFG, but as more and more guys have tried out the MTR's, they are liking them.

Seeing how the price is damn near the exact same, it may be time to try somethin new.

I just wonder how they will hold up in the long run. 50,000 - 70,000 miles from now.

There is no question in my mind that the BFG's will hold up, but man I'd be pretty pissed if I dropped a thousand on tires and those MTR's wore out after 25,000 miles.

here's a good pic of the km2 and mtr next to each other. Then the rocker next to that. I had probably 25,000 on my old mtr's and they were 50 to 40 percent left

Ohhh
camodown

Just saw that you custom made that front bumper, sweet job on that

Any interest in bringin that custom design to market?

I know some people who know some people.... we should get that fabbed up and have it listed with every truck customizing parts dealer in the nation. great job.

And on a side note: to the Admins, is there a way to make this into a poll?

It is custom made from a xj bumper. So I can't take the credit for the base of it. If I wanted one in production it would be wolfman00's.

Goodyear here! Although I am going to try out a set of General's Red Letter in my July race! I have been racing Goodyears and I really like the sideways bite and the tough sidewall!

This isn't my race truck just one I built recently.

speaking of BFG.....

(33"x10.50"x15) can any one tell me what these tires would be in the metric size on a 16" rim and in the all terrain NOT the mud terrain.

EX:285/75R16

heres the website with the sizes.

285/75/16 would be as close as you would get. They would be wider though
