For anyone that has experimented with this, how much worse did your gas mileage get going from a 10.5 inch tire to an 11.5 or wider tire? I've got 31 10.5s on right now and most recently i got 18 mpg, say i went to 32 11.5s, how much would it drop?

couldn't find anything on the subject so i thought i'd post. thanks.

I didn't notice a difference at all. I have always gotten 18 mpg.

did your K&N do anything for mileage? or anything at all? power?

There's so many variables in the question you're asking (gear ratio, driving style, engine, etc.) that there's no 100% answer. But IMHO, you're not going to really see an MPG drop from an all around 1" increase... if anything, maybe like 0.5 MPG less.

how do you guys get 18mpg? im stuck around 15.4 or so but i do drive mostly around town like 7 miles to school then 7 miles to work. and i have a k&n drop in and have noticed no gains what so ever

No gains from the K&N but does sound a bit different. I just recently got the Superchips Mileage XS and have noticed a difference in my MPG. I got it used so the deal was good on my part, even if it didn't work. You also need to remember that you need to calculate for the difference in tire size from stock to what you have. That may also throw your MPG off when you calculate.


I will update you on the programmer once I get some more miles on it. But everything seems to work great.

Mileage with larger tires will be affected greatly. Not your MPG but your odometer reading. With my larger tires I was going 6 MPH faster and that's 10% extra than what is showing on the stock odometer.

I'm getting about 15 MPG, but I have 33x12.5 tires, and a 93-octane performance tune
