Default Average Price of a Control Arm Repair

Today, as some people know, was a stormy day in California. Being the stupid teenager I am, I decided to take my truck off-roading. Everything was going fine until I decided to do an U-Turn to go back up a hill. My front left wheel then proceeded to go out. I come to realize that the upper and lower control arms, ball joints, and other things connected to the wheel are destroyed. My question is, what can I expect price wise to repair the whole thing. The dealer said $3000 but I think that is a little high. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

3k is pretty steep. The cost all depends on the amount of damage caused when your control arms let go. If the damage is just to removable parts you can easily do the work yourself with handtools and get an alignment once its done. Hell of a lot cheaper than being raped by the dealer. Pictures of the damage would help.

I'll post pics once I get my phone up and running.

A new upper and lower control arm are like $50 each from autozone. Lower includes bushings and a ball joint.

That's a driveway project. The dealership is just a waste of money plain and simple.

All four control arms + tie rod ends will cost around 400$ if you D.I.Y.

Here's the pic. I know it's not the greatest but it has been raining the whole weekend and haven't had a chance to take a new one.
