Woke up this morning to clear the snow off of my '90 2.9L 4x4 Ranger.
Decided to move it so the plow truck could get the snow out from in front of my house.
Only problem was that my rear driver side wheel was locked up.
I took the 4x4 off, pumped the brakes and e-brake... even restarted the truck.
Still nothing.
Strangely enough, the wheel would roll when I put the truck into reverse.
A couple of days ago, my rear antilock light and e-brake light came one, but the truck worked fine.
Could this have something to do with it? Or could it be that my brake just froze up because of the cold and snow?

BTW...MY little brother's '03 VW Jetta VR6 made it out without even clearing the snow...made me look bad in front of the neighbors

I had a similar problem on my 94. The e-brake cables where locking up. replaced them.
I also ended up replacing the wheel calenders because they where seeping.

Also could be that your self adjuster is frozen up or shot.

Best bet is to rip into it and see what is not right.

Oh and if you have not replaced any ebrake cables yet, DO THEM ALL! my drivers tire was locking up due to the passenger side's cable... they where all shot

Yup both the Rats were rusted solid. New ones are 20 bucks apiece at Auto zone.

they go out around 100k to 150k
