Default Wild Country A/T or Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac?

I'm debating between 33x12.5 Wild Country A/T or Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires. I have a single cab ranger and most of my driving is going to be on the road. The guy at the tire shop said they will wear the same and kept telling me to get the GY Duratracs. I cant find any info on how these tires wear, they seem to be a newer tire. Any opinions on these two tires?

Wild Country, Dad had them on his Chevy, lasted 75000 miles and did decent off road, not great but decent. The GY's tend to suck, at least in my experience.

If they made 'em in my size, I'd be running the Duratrac's as my next tire. I got ALOT of life out of my GY MT/R's...50k by me and I got 'em used with about 70% tread on 'em. I know it's a different tire, but I've heard ALOT of good things about the Duratrac's and they fit my bill perfectly....mild mud terrain and aggressive all terrain rolled into one tire with long life. IMO....best of both worlds.

What Wild Country are you looking at? There's TONS of options with wild countrys. I assume you're on the west coast...possibly the PNW? Les Schwab? hehe.

XTX's SUCK in rain and snow and slippery conditions. They're like the wild country equivilent to Toyo Open Country A/t's...they suck! SXT's are eh...plain, nothing special, and a street tire.

I have wild country xtx tires and they have been good on the highway but off road, snow, and rain they have been just ok not the greatest.

Duratracs all the way. I absolutely love mine. They run smooth and have a little bit of a howl at about 45-70. They do great off road, but the tend to sling really bad if the mud is clumpy. My only complaint is that there is some lateral squirm if you hit a bump or rut in a corner, beyond that I love em.
And you can't forget, they look awesome!

Does anyone have high mileage on the duratracs? Just curious how they wear or how anyone thinks they will wear compared to an all terrain tire.

I've got the Duratracs on my truck and I absolutely love them. They are great in the snow and not just deep snow. Light snow they shine in glory as well unlike a lot of more aggressive tires. I've got about 6,000 miles on mine now and I can't even see any wear on them. They are good in mud too, but like EMTspitfire said, they sling the mud. But that is a good thing because that means they are cleaning themselves out. And they are a quiet tire for how agrresive they are.

I do have one more tiny gripe. They hold rocks in the center treads. Nothing major, but it annoys me when I'm riding at low speeds hearing the clicking of rocks on pavement. Again, not too big a deal. Another positive too, Ive been getting a smidge better gas mileage since j put these on. My trip to st. Louis netted about 17.7 mpg and the trip back was 17.9. I've put about 5k on em and have no noticable wear.
Sorry to post twice, but my phone is being picky and not lettig me edit.

ALL the "downsides" posted are traits of mud terrain and aggressive all terrain tires...

I haven't noticed the rock thing at all. Pretty much any tire will pick up rocks and throw them.

In my experience, Goodyear is over priced for what they offer.

I was lucky and got mine before the price of the duratrac's price skyrocketed. I got them before they got more expensive than the bfgs.
