Default Fitting 285/75/16r

I have a 2001 ford ranger edge 4x4 currently sitting on 245/75/16r. I want to sit higher without buying a body lift or a lift kit. I want to know if anybody has achieved this and how? And I wanna know approx. how much higher my truck should sit. Thanks!

Tons of guys run this 285/75/16 setup.

Way back in the day I ran that setup on my truck with only cranking my torsion bars.

Would you suggest new torsion keys?

Nope - they are a waste of money.

The aftermarket keys re-index where the torsion bar mounts within the key itself. Which is the same as cranking the bars using the original keys (think rotation). All the aftermarket torsion keys do (besides drain your bank account) is let you crank the torsion bars PAST the stock maximum - which is bad news.

That's the bad part about aftermarket keys (besides costing money for nothing) - they allow you to crank the bars even further that stock which would just magnify the potential wear problems

Summary:
Stock keys w/ bars cranked 1.5" = Potential for stiffer suspension & minor increase in front end component wear.
Aftermarket keys w/ bars at standard location = Stock keys w/ bars cranked 1.5" + Lighter Wallet = Same potential for stiffer suspension & minor increase in front end component wear.
Aftermarket keys w/ bars moderately cranked = Major increase of front end component wear.
Aftermarket keys w/ bars max cranked = Imminent truck death & destruction.

i have 285s stock suspension with 3'' body. fits nice that way.

To tell how high it will sit take the tire hight split it in half and measure down from center of axle.

so 33'' will sit 16.5'' down from center of hub. see what your 245s are and thats how much higher it will sit.

It's got torsion bars, so it's either a 4x4 setup or a 2wd Edge model (same height as a 4x4).
