Default Abs code c1230 staying on after replacing sensor.

Recently it got cold and the ABS light on my 2002 ford ranger kicked on. I have the V6 4.0 xlt. I went to the parts store and replaced the part which the code diagnosed as bad (the rear wheel speed sensor) and had the codes cleared. Now upon driving it the ABS light is back on throwing the same codes. Is this now a wiring issue? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
