It would probably cost more to get them legalized than anything. Im sure they are not up to USA emission standards

YES PLEASE!!

I still reallllly want to bring up one of those trucks, lengthen my frame, use the 4dr cab and my existing bed, swap the engine and drivetrain onto my truck. Sooooo kickass.



USA standards don't matter if you live in an area that doesn't require emissions testing...

hehe.

How would you go about registering it since it is foreign

what about the new federal diesel laws they have now

your right but if thers a will thers a way im not saying it would be easy first off yove got to find one buy it bring it to the us hopfully and then the fun part starts geting it leagal

I'm still using my own frame... It's just a cab swap and frame lengthening.

EFF the new fed diesel emission requirements...they don't apply to my vehicle and don't apply to my engine that I'd use. And don't apply if I live in a no-emission testing area. Before 07, your diesel can be straight piped, no cat, and still pass for your equipment standards. No diesel emission testing prior to 07 model year....they were exempt from testing.

yea vin swaping is a fedaral afence you can use the frame and cab all you would need is a recept and put all your parts from your ranger to a 4dr i dont realy think they can say any thing about that so what if i bought my replacement frame and cab from mexico

yeah, well i dont think it would be fraud if you swapped the cab and applied for a salvaged title. thats the whole point of a salvaged title is to document its not original parts, even if they come with a different vin. but then the problem is insurance and stuff... the value of the car is junk with a salvaged title.... from an insurance companies point of view.
