I think the Camaro and Corvett are the only things from any GM brand that I actually like.

well in the challengers class....the Mustang GT is only 412 horsepower and 390 pound-feet torque.. 12.8 1/4 mile times. doesn't really compare on performance

For about $5k more than the challenger you can get the Mustang Shelby GT500 with 540 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. The reason I would rather get a Camaro is that it will be at least $10k less than the Challenger for 426 hp and 420 lb-ft torque, plus it looks better.

2011 SS is 422hp 409 ft lbs of torque,.... challenger is 470hp n 470 ft lbs torque

I've found a couple sites going with different numbers. I was just going with what Chevy's website says. Even going with the 422 hp, $10,000 is a lot of money for an extra 48hp. If you would pay for that, why wouldn't you pay an extra $5000 and get the extra 70hp over the Challenger with the Mustang Shelby GT500? IMO Camaro is the best for the price, but if I wanted to spend more it would be for the GT500. I understand this is a Ford forum so there are some die hard Chevy haters, but I just don't think Challengers make sense for their price bracket unless you REALLY like how they look.

A stock 2011 5.0 with a 6-speed and a descent driver delivers 4.3 0-60 and 12.6 second 1/4 mile times... (i have witnessed it) at $30k... Ill say no thanks to this car. My next car will be a 2011 Roush stage 2 5.0. I think the Camaro and Challenger look like land yaughts and from I have driven/rode in, thats dead on. Hell my '09 GT stang runs 13 flats and 0-60 in 4.6 and only has intake/tune/exhaust. I still say the biggest bargan out there is a $15k S197 (05-09) GT and then supercharge it... boom. $20k for a 11 second car. Hell. even 99-04's make great cars. I would put any Tuned 99-09 Mustang against both the Camaro and Challenger.

2009 Mustang cost $20k to start and had 210hp. Sorry, but a supercharger isn't going to double the horsepower. If that were the case people would be out there buying Nissan Ultimas, adding a supercharger, and then racing for pinks.
