Smile Rear Bumper

I just finished my rear bumper today! it looks WAY better. Here are some pics.
Sorry, crappy cell pics.

As you can tell I was joking about being done. I still have a few minor fixes to do with the diamond plate on the top left, as you can see in the first and second pic. The diamond plate is a little warped, but that will be a quick fix. I still have a lot to do, but will be done tomorrow with everything. So i thought I would just keep you guys updated.

Oh yeah, and any suggestions where I should mount my license plate?
Update:03/19/10

Bumper is finished. I just need to touch it up with some paint tomorrow then i will try and get some pics. I'm a bit disappointed in the result. It's not the bumper I'm not too fond of, but the tire mount. I feel it may be a bit too high. Although there is an upside to that, I can add a bracket to mount a high lift jack, and another for a shovel, in the gap between the bottom of the tire and the bumper. Here's a little preview.......

I'll get more tomorrow.

Nice. Going to have it painted?

I say have the license plate sit behind the bumper...

Does NM require you to have a light for the license plate?

Yeah, Flat black like the front. Behind it? I'm going to be putting diamond plate on the vertical surface as well. Yes NM requires a light to be there. I have it hanging temporarily until I build a setup for it. I'll also be adding a spare tire mount that leans into the bed.

Hmm...well depending on how your spare mount looks, you may be able to mount it on that somehow. Otherwise just bolt it on top of the diamond plate.

Its going to look awesome! I miss those kinds of bumpers on trucks. Nowadays if you actually bump something with your BUMPER you have to replace it! Back when it was constructed like that youd load up the old beer cooler, invite over some of your buds and take 10 hours to "supervise" one guy hammer out a dent, throw some paint on it and call it a day!

yeah, I'm goig to bend a tube from the bumper up into the bed, then have it come back down and bolt onto the bumper. It's kinda hard to explain.

haha! That's exactly how it is. If the finished product looks a little off, I'm sure you will understand why. Lol

Done. A couple pics before dark. It's a little basic, but I like it.

I gotta give thanks to my buddies at Little Rascals 4x4 for the help.
