First time to tow!
I just bought this Ranger a month ago and haven't towed anything yet. I just have a ball on the bumper. Receiver hitch is possible in the future. My buddy needed help moving and I was excited just to do something different with my truck. Besides, its just a good chance to take some pics of the Ranger!

doesnt the ball on the bumper just rip your bumper off? i always heard that was a bad idea and not to do it.

you can tow a small trailer like that with the bumper hitch, but anything substantial you need an actual hitch

I was also excited to tow for the first time with my truck.
I think tow limit on the bumper is 300 pounds

Ok, just got done with all that. Didn't realize how uncomfortable my seats were until today. Drove 1.5 hours there, and then the same back. Pulled fine through the first 4 gears. Problem was, I couldnt get past 60 mph. Pedal was to the floor. I was running right at 2000 RPM's. I had read about the "throttle cable mod." I think I am a candidate for this. It was infuriating. I stayed around 55mph on a road that everyone was doing 80+ on lol. I noticed after i dropped the trailer off that I push my throttle in about an inch or more before the motor responds...I think I may need to look at that cable.
