Default Ranger's new Discoverer STTs

Time for new treads and chose Discoverer STTs. They work great in snow but don't have as much siping as most A/Ts.

You're right, I am enjoying these tires.

With the recent thaw, I've been playing in the mud the last few days and they are awesome!

Thanks. I was thinking about a wider tire.

I almost went with a 265/70 but my suspension is completely stock and even with the narrower 245/75 I get some rubbing in the right well at full left turn. The two sizes are almost the same diameter but I think the 265 would be rubbing a lot more. Didn't have immediate plans to lift my truck, so went with stock size.

I'll get one this afternoon.

Cooper's site has a nice interactive graphic:
http://www.coopertire.com/html/produ...discoverer_stt

For the size I wanted, 245/75 r16, Cooper only makes a load range E LT tire which for a Ranger is way overkill - single tire max load rating is something like 3040 lbs which is more than the whole rear axle rating... lol

It's not a rough riding tire on my truck though. I need something agressive with open diffs.

The narrower the tire the better for snow conditions thats for sure. Very nice.

I now run 245 75/R16 MTR's (9.64" Wide) on my Ranger with no rub at all. Last set I ran were on my Jeep TJ Rubicon 235 85/R16 MTR's (9.26" Wide). Nice and narrow for these CND conditions. Not much sand in these parts.

LOL...

I was wondering if anyone would ask that. I was very stuck - you can see where the rear diff was dragging. I was foolishly driving too fast and the whole truck slid up onto this deep drift and the suspension was unloaded. Took a while to dig out.

Here are some non-snow pictures I took this afternoon so you can see the tire more closely.
