It's all covered up by factory panels but my trucks interior has had some custom work done.

No pictures of the roof or doors both of which also have accoustic foam (spot treatments) and vibration dampener (whole truck done with 2 layers)

15ft2 of accostic foam was used and 130-140ft2 of dampener was used (Ultimate B-Quiet)

If you are upgrade your sound do yourself a huge favor and consider doing something like i did in terms of soundproofing. Its the biggest recommendation i make now.

This is interesting.. I've heard people describe insulating their trucks and greatly increasing the how their systems sound... but I've never seen pictures of the process.

How long did it take you? And how much did you spend on the acoustic foam?

I used two 12.75sqft rolls of B-Quiet HLiner 1/2" accoustic foam on the outer skin inside all 4 doors and on the floor over the transmission hump and front and rear footwells and in the low spots of the back wall to make a flush surface to make applying the dampener easier.

Overtop of the foam i used 140 sqft (2 layers) of Ultimate B-Quiet on the roof, rear wall, A&C pillars, the inside panel on the 4 doors and floor up to the firewall.

I went completely overboard for my application but thats how i roll

I took about 20 hours doing it solo from gutting the interior to putting it all back together, took my time and did it over three days.

I spent about $400 On all the material from these guys.

The difference? friggin huge! no more interior rattles! much better midrange/midbass response from the stereo and 80% of the bass stays in the cab now, you can hear it with the doors closed, you feel it when you open the door! Roadtrips become much more comfortable as the tunes don't have be turned up over road noise.

No issues to report nearly two years after.

Kinda got long winded there, but i feel so strongly about it now as the first audio upgrade a person should consider. Less than $200 spent on it will pay multiple dividends in the long term.

Should be one somewhere on my page. Must of deleted it from my phone. Basically I took a red led strip, ran the wire to where the cigaret light wiring is. Tied it into the power and replaced the lighter with a toggle switch. Then in one of my many dashboard disassembles I laid the led strip inside the centre vent above the deck. Trouble is now I want to install heated side mirrors which will utilize the toggle switch. So I am probably gonna hard wire the interior red lighting to my head light toggle. ----------

I'd consider those custom. I would get a pair if I had the extra cash. They comfy? And how do they sit in height elevation in relation to your stock seats?

Awesome thanks for the detailed response! You've got me pretty gung-ho to give this a shot. I've heard lot's of people say that spening a little on insulating goes further than spending a lot on new subs/speakers/whatever.

Cheers!
