Default Sportz Truck Tents

It's picture time

I got my Sportz Truck Tent in last week and got a chance to test install it yesterday. If y'all ever wondered about these things, they are great! I cannot wait to use it. The best thing since slice bread! This thing is awesome. Very well designed, installs easily, you can tell the designers are truck owners too as they design the product to protect your truck at every corner. And the disassembly is just as easy. Napier Outdoors did an excellent job.

I hope to be camping in it this coming weekend, suppose to spend the night on the ocean for some at dawn pictures.

Opps first one was me goofing with my new 50mm f/1.4 lens...

Laying it out in the bed in the proper orientation:

Inserting the first three poles:

Front and rear door poles in:

View from the back side:

Starting to take shape:

First peek inside:

Great side view, the awning is very cool.

just a picture ho'

Ready for camping, Truck-Bedz air mattress inflated:

Well if you were ever thinking about one of these, they are very cool and seem worth their value. I also have a Truxdeo BedRug installed, wow what a difference that makes of your truck bed compared to those drop in plastic liners.

This is not the best picture taken from my phone:

Also the tent installed right over the roll up tonneau cover. I did put a wash cloth over each rear latch as there was a few sharp edges there. But the brackets and rail itself were fine, no risk of damage to the tent.

They even come with an awning? That's awesome.

Are these things universal fit, model-specific, or truck size specific? For example will your tent work on a fullsize longbed truck, or do they make a bigger one for that?

That's actually kinda of neat.

Do you leave it attached to the bed?

Set up time?

Able to pile luggage on top?

Does it hinder any spots where you need to tie down stuff?

Yes is that too cool or what! I'm thinking photo-road trip to the keys, stop at Bahia Honda, Marathon, Long Key sitting back there your chair in the tropical breeze with ****tail in hand

Well you order per your vehicle, but I noticed on the side of the bag it comes in one model seems to fit many small 6' compact truck models. Total of six models, this is considered the new 57 Series.

Knowing my luck, they don't make one for the longbed and the one you have will not work on a longbed Ranger .

No. You cannot drive with it.

Well my first time probably took longer cause it was also the first time I set up a tent like this with these poles with the bungie in the center of them (wicked idea BTW). And I wanted to ensure I had it all down, plus leave any adjustment now preset, so when I set it up next time I could do it in the dark easily.

I'd estimate setup time around 15 minutes. Likewise take down about the same. I'm the type too that keeps the rubber bands and re-secures all the poles together as the factory packed them in the bag they come in. As it comes down it pretty much folds close to where you want it, pull it somewhat towards you and roll it up from the back going towards you at the tailgate. All goes back in a canvas bag it came in.

No, it's like any normal tent.

BTW it has a rain fly that attaches in minutes, but I was in the process of seam sealing it since it was new so I didn't attach it and take a picture.

I'm not sure about the last question, but the one picture shows the inside, its completely sealed, i.e., the sides and bottom are one. I didn't show a picture of on each side near each side window are built in pouches to put stuff.

Here's their setup video:

I paid $95 on Amazon. Of course Amazon always messes with the price once you add it to your wish list, so it started off around $86 but by the time I added to my order they changed the price. Shipping was about $8.

Same thing on the BedRug, when I added it to my wish list the price was $349 by the time I place the order it had changed to $389. Still cheaper than full retail at $499.

I guess the way Amazon works is if you like the price buy as it will often go up!

Very cool. The new series has lots of windows it seems. Looks like you have the rain fly on it.

BTW: wish my truck was more like yours 4x4!
