Believe me or not. My dad shoveled some snow on the road in front of my house and full sizes were driving and didnt sink. I could see how much snow was still underneath them. The snow was hard.

Three hours after i bought her I sunk her past the diffs in snow . My friends silverado on duratracs could even come near enough to attach the tow rope and I had already backed up 100 ft from where I bogged down. Turns out the ranger was light enough to stay on top while the heavy pig 1500 just sank right away so I had to get a ride back to the farm to get the John Deere 8410T track tractor to pull me out.

I was playing on the rez last year, went down a semi-graded road, not in 4x since was cruising on main graded road, saw as I was about to enter a sand pit, went for 4x engage ---- nothing. My shift motor had went out at the perfectly wrong time, down the rear end went.
Had nothing but a 3' piece of flat board found in the desert for this one as there is nothing to tie-off to for come-a-long & chain. To make matters worse, at that point I had yet to find my overheating problem, so while I am trying to get un-stuck the system kept overheating. I'de get about 4' head way with that little piece of wood when the rear would sink again and the system overheat.
There was no going backwards, as behind me is uphill and the slight decent ahead of me was bad enough making progress. Finally got to a half solid stretch where made a cpl hundred feet out of the sand, but then had to get up a lose-rock hill - in 2x, with an overheating cooling system.
Any way, got out of it and up the hill with a lateral uphill criss-cross pattern forward and backward, cooling periods, and lots of patience.
The resolve: a new fan clutch, new shift-motor, misc flat & 4x4 wood in the bed, shovel, and my new off-road rez-diggin' tires!

image-2231743690.jpg I got stuck in a snow bank on valentines day. I made it the first 5 times, but not the last time lol. Moral of the story dont hit it one last time, especially when its iced over snow..
Ps- this was after I started to dig and get pulled out, it was up to my license plate.
