haha nvm then im stupid. i know 20k is deep blue tho. in my opinion 20k and 12k look very similar. in total my friends have 6k projector HIDs, 8k top and bottoms, 10k top and bottoms, 12k top and bottoms, and one of them has 20k tops. the 20k looks alot like the 12k but just a little deeper/darker of a blue. i've seen green ones on the road before and purple ones haha but i dunno the temps

I think green isn't a "K" it's just a color... But it'd be so sweet to try out!

haha it would be fun but i think it would get old and i think you have considerably less actual light output.. the higher the Kelvin temp (K) the less actual light you get. 4300 or so being the most possible light output or so i've been told

i love the hid look and could absolutely use the improved viz but, at the risk of sounding like an old douce bag....., i often get blinded by HIDs from apposing traffic. Is this because theirs are improperly mounted or would I be contributing to this traffic hazard by mounting them myself or with expert advice / professional mounting?

You can aim them down if you'd like. 9 out of 10 times it's due to improper aiming.

the blinding is not caused by the HIDs themselves... the blinding is caused by mis-aimed headlights.. headlights that are aimed parallel with the road instead of at a slight slant down. this blinding effect is even worse when you lift a truck because your just making your lights higher. if you aim them properly then you won't blind people but they will still be bright (more of an irritatingly bright versus actually blinding)

i aimed my headlights up to a more parallel level because it gives you more light farther out and every other car flashed me with there brights.. i aimed them back down and they stopped haha

EDIT: dam you TrePaul86..... i couldnt type fast enough haha

thats because HID's were developed in conjunction with projectors. theyre made differently to have concise cut off and dont glare like hids do in a halogen housing

yeah your supposed to have projectors if you have HIDs because they contain the scatter of light that HIDs produce on stock headlight housings. they make a more contained direct light on the street while HIDs in stock headlight housings just scatter light everywhere. that is also why people are blinded more often with HIDs in stock housings because the light is scattered but with projectors you cant really blind people. projectors are expensive tho

EDIT: DAM YOU PEOPLE!! stop posting before me hahah

It's called a reflector housing. That's what rangers have. They were never designed to be used with an HID system, so yes there's glare. But glare can be compensated for by aim. Projectors cut off the beam and focus the light below that cut off point. Relector housings don't offer that.
