I think it was just an old case and the chain inside was probably stretched and worn out. But earlier today I helped a girl pull out her full size bronco and her rear axle was burried in mud. It took 5-6 good tugs in reverse to get that monster out. Think there is a correlation? I think I may have created a stress crack and it just got worse throughout the day driving it.

Yeah that definitely was the final blow. I hit a speed bump one night going like 20 and it locked up my rear end. Drive around for 2 days with the gears in my pumpkin skipping and finally blew up the rear end one the 2nd night doing about 55. Ranger don't just break, the slowly and painfully die

That sounds like an unpleasant experience. Did you upgrade to an 8.8??

Ya I want to do a solid axle with 2.5 x 12 or 14 coilovers then do glass up front. And I know a guy who has 3 right now.

All you need is the case and a front driveshaft from an exploder. It only cost me like $100. I'm so sick of my ifs giving me problems all the time so sas is the best way to go. Ya we should set a date and go somewhere that would be fun

No problems with my ifs, I push it pretty hard to. Only reason I can't swap right now is I have the only job between my wife and I with her summer classes. I've been wanting to set up a meet or go wheeling with someone but I've never done any in Colorado, just the snowy range west of Laramie

Lucky. I have to do wheel bearings like every 6 months. We should set something up at Walden. Its pretty much the closest thing we have to desert around here.

Not much of a difference cause I still have a scratch down to the metal but at least I buffed out the minor scratches.

After
